Flip Top Re-Spray

Hi guys.

I have finally got round to getting the head gasket repaired on my TF160 after it has sat around for about 18 months.

I wondered if anybody could recommend a good spray shop as it has developed a couple of rust spots near the boot area and has some chips and minor dents where it has been sitting.

It is a Typhoon Chromactive colour, the blue/green colour one,

Regards Alan.

You'll need a very good paint shop for that colour- if you're willing to cross the border into the badlands of Hertfordshire, I was recommended and used these guys a few years back on my TF160, they did a first class job.

The calibre of cars they had in their workshop were all reassuringly very expensive:

They'll have the car for a week/10 days- it takes as long as it takes and costs what it does- they're definitely not the cheapest, but the car will be perfect

Hi Stuart.

Thanks for that info, it can't hurt to get a quote, but judging by the cars they normally work on, they maybe out of my league

Regards Alan.

£240 a litre!!

Wow!! I never would have though it'd be that much- bit lavish for MG Rover ay??

MG/ROVER did charge £1500 for the paint job and it would only take 2 ltr to paint a car I would have thought as the chipsaway man only used about 10-15 cc to do my wing

I have used Shaun before and very happy with his work,

Dave J has used him for work on his 2004 monogram Poseidon TF160

Hi Alan, where in Essex are you ?

Pop along to Battlesbridge on Sunday, there's a very good place in Harlow that's been recommended to us, I can't remember the name at the moment but others who will be at the car show will be able to remind me, I have seen the quality and it's good.

Hi Adrian.

Sorry I have only just seen this, I'm in Basildon, but obviously to late now to come to Battlesbridge

Any idea of the name of the place at all, as I'm still trying to get some prices together,

Thx Alan

I'm watching this with some interest as my Typhoon TF will need some spray work fairly soon.

Looking forward to the updates .
