Crash Box Classic Car Show - Powderham Castle 13/14 July
Guys,
We have the opportunity of taking a stand at what is probably the biggest classic car show in the South West. We would be doing this under the banner of the MGCC who don't feel they have enough support to commit to the show this year. They have therefore offered the MGF register the chance to organise the club stand over the two days of the show.
For those of you who have not been to this show before, it is a magnificent gathering of historic vehicles in the superb setting of the grounds of Powderham Castle. There are many club stands and literally hundreds of classic vehicles - most of them in show condition. There is a large section devoted to steam powered traction, with any number of displays in the main show ring. There is also a significant trade presence with a large auto jumble area. It is a lively show with a good attendance over both days - weather permitting.
I'm happy to take on the organisation of the stand for the register, but before I commit to us attending, I need to gauge the likely support. I'm also hoping to get some support from our local friends in the z register.
So, the big question is:
Would you be prepared to bring your MGF or TF along and put it on the show stand for one or both days of this show? You'll get free entry to the show if you do.
The secondary question is:
In exchange for free entry, would you be prepared to spend an hour or so during the day manning the stand on behalf of the register and the MGCC? This would involve answering questions about the cars and encouraging people to join the MGCC.
Could you give me your initial responses to both questions and, if we can get a reasonable level of support, I'll commit to taking it on.
So, my response would be:
Brian, both days, and happy to man the stand.
I hope this makes sense to everyone. Let me know if there are any questions.
Regards
Brian

I can definitely so the Sunday and hopefully the Saturday, dependant on my work commitments with the Tiverton balloon festival. I'm hoping to just be at the festival in the evenings.
Put me down as Sunday and happy to man the stand. Saturday will be a bonus!
This sounds great Brian!

that's good.
Its a MGCC stand so all MG's welcome. But, the BRM.......I know there's talk about letting them race in one of the MGCC race series.
Not my call. I'll leave that up to Brian / Steve / Pete and MGCC D&C Centre!

Would prefer Sunday as less traffic, and do you know if dogs are allowed ?

Car looks great Jan, still got the dvd player installed?
It would be great if you could make this event, you've sent me so many invites to events in your area in the past (that I've had to turn down because of work) it would be great to finally meet you & welcome you onto our turf
