Powderham Historic Vehicle Gathering 12 & 13 July 2014

Post by Dingbat » Sun Apr 06, 2014 12:15 pm

Hi, Guys

For those of you who attended the Powderham show last year, you'll remember it as a fabulous event with lots to interest everyone. The brilliant sunshine helped of course, but the MGCC stand was a tremendous place to base ourselves for a weekend of fun and lively chat.

Well, the good news is that we're doing it again this year - dates as above. Full details of the show can be found by following this link.

http://historic-vehicle-gathering.info/

As was the case last year, the local MGCC committee have asked the MGF register to organise the club stand on their behalf, so it would be great if we put on another good display of cars. We've got space for up to 10 MG's of any description (on both days) and we'd love to get a good selection of models from a variety of different era's.

Entry to the show will be FREE for the driver and one passenger of any car entered on to the club stand. The only requirement is that the driver should be a member of the MGCC.

This is the largest classic car show in the south west and is an event not to be missed. Please get the dates into your diary now and reply to this post if you want to bring your MG along to show on the club stand. Just let me know which day (or days) you want to attend, and the MG your planning to bring along. I'll keep a running list going for each day. Please be aware though that if either day is oversubscribed we'll have to resort to drawing lots for the free tickets.

    Sounds great!

Count us in for Saturday with the MGBGT and Sunday in the MG3.

We can drop the gazebo down on the Friday night after work and pick it up on Sunday in the 3.

    Anyone for Pimms? ;)

      Hi, guys.

Just a reminder that I'm looking for names of anyone who would like a free pass to the Powderham show this year.

Just see the first post in this thread and let me know if you fancy bringing a MG along to show on our stand for either (or both) days.

      Regards

As before we are up for this, just not decided on a day yet. ;) We could do both days but a bit far to travel ;)

        Hi Brian,

It would be good to bring Nugget along on the Saturday. However as a newbie to the area I fully understand if regulars get priority.

        Hi, guys.

With a little over 3 weeks to go until the show, I've updated the list of those attending. It's looking like we'll have a decent showing of cars on both days. However, there's still room for a few more if anyone else wants to join us.

I've now got the car passes from the Crash Box club and I'll be sending these out at the start of July - I'm away next week. I'd appreciate it if you could respond to any pm's you get asking for address details - I don't think I kept them from last year.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the show and hoping the good weather continues.

        Regards

          Hi, guys.

With 2 weeks to go, I've updated the list in post #1 to reflect the current position as best I know it. Please shout if I've misunderstood any of your requests.

As it stands, It looks like there is space for another 4 cars on the Saturday and 3 on the Sunday. However our friends in Somerset and Dorset will take up 2 of the empty spaces. I've also got one telephone message to follow up on and this might also take up 2 spaces. So, it's looking pretty good at the moment. However, we can still find room for another two or three cars - most likely on the Saturday. Please let me know if you want to come along.

I'll be issuing the passes before next weekend, so please let me have your address (by pm) if I don't already have it.

I look forward to seeing you all at the show.

          Regards

            Hi, guys.

Thanks for the responses. I've updated the list in post #1 to reflect the current position. And apologies to Gary & Mo - I managed to edit out your Sunday attendance in a previous version.

It now looks like we have a full house of 10 cars on the Sunday and only 2 spaces left on the Saturday. I'm happy to take last minute names (and pm'd addresses) for the two remaining spaces.

Looking forward to getting together with you all again.

Further update is that our stand on Sunday is now full. I have only one space left for the Saturday. Any takers??
