The MERSEYSIDE MEET

Every First SUNDAY of the month @ 13:00pm

MAY to OCTOBER

The GAME BIRD - St.Helens

WELCOME

We are MG-ROVER - MERSEYSIDE, we are a group of
MG-ROVER owners and mg-rover.org Members who
organise the monthly Merseyside Meets and events
in the Merseyside Area.

ABOUT US

It all began in early 2008 when Andypower set up a topic
called "whos in merseyside" in England - North to see if
there were any other .org members were local to him,
following on from that ROVER-25X set up the first topic
of what would eventually become the Merseyside Meet,
it is now the longest running monthly meet on .org, we
have held 6 years worth of regular Monthly Meets, 5
Christmas Meals, 3 Track Days, 5 DYNO Days and 8
Tunnel Runs.

Members from all over the UK have attended the Meet
and we average 10 cars per meet, our Record is 23 Cars
which was during Tunnel Run 2, come on down and
enjoy the atmosphere with a fantastic bunch of helpful
and friendly people.

ABOUT THE MEET

The Meet is arranged on the first Sunday of the month
from MAY to OCTOBER, we now only operate in the
summer months and it always starts at 13:00.

We aim to have a Meet Rep to arrive early to greet
everyone as they arrive, the meet is always in the
early afternoon so that we can make the most of the
daylight and enjoy the fantastic sunshine in the
Summer months.

We usually spend our time outside chatting, looking at
the cars in attendance and lending a hand fixing
problems or help fitting mods and sharing tips and
advice, we always try to take photos of the line up of
cars in attendance and group pics including the work
being done on cars, we also ocationally film videos of
the meet and of Members cars, due to the great location
we have a 60mph road at the front of the meet location
so we can capture the induction roar and exhaust
sounds of members cars if they wish us to do so safely
and within the limits of the law.

Our primary Meet location is The Game Bird, we always
have the meets at Pub Restaurants with access to a large
car park access to Food, Drink and Toilets, plus if the
weather takes a turn for the worst or if it is too cold there
is always somewhere warm to sit.

These Meets are Family Friendly and we make Members
Spouses and Partners feel very welcome, we normally
find locations with Playgrounds so that members with
Children are able to attend, all the Locations have Baby
changing facilities.

Don't confuse these meets with the local Chav Cruises
down at your local retail park, yes we hang around in
car parks chatting away but we don't act anti-socially,
the age range of our regular Members is 19-60, anyone
is welcome to attend, there are no age barriers at the
Merseyside Meet.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

If you are new to the Meet then please introduce
yourself to the group, in the past we have had a few
cars arrive and the owners just sat in there car and
eventually drive off, we have no idea who you are until
you tell us
so please jump out of your car and say
hello to the group, we are very friendly and don't bite.

PROMOTE THE MEET

There are a lot of MG-ROVER owners all over the
Merseyside, Midlands and general North West area
that attend the meet and we gladly welcome more,
if you know any other Members on The Register or
have any family or friends who own an MG-ROVER
then please let them know about us, if you are a
Member of another MG-ROVER owners Club or
forum then it would be great if you could generate
interest in the meet and post up a link for our
facebook Group and inform there Members of the
Merseyside Meet.

Yes to driving, the Game Bird is 4 mile up the Lancs from West Derby just enough to get the motor warm
