New BIG meet & run for 2014

Post by richandpaula » Wed Feb 19, 2014 12:32 pm

A new event for us all to look forward to this year.

2014 is the year of Friends Round Manchester - The Ian McCulloch aka Touchstone memorial run.

Info about this run can be found here http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=688481

All F/TF's welcome, lets put aside any forum rivalries for this one as it's all for a really good cause, a great chance to pay your respects to the memory of a top bloke and make it happen this year :thumbsu:

We did this a few years ago now to coincide with the friends round London event and it was very successful apart from the time it took...if I remember correctly we went round twice to make it worthwhile being out!!! :D

Hey there .... I'm new to all this having only owned my MG for 3 months! I like the idea of a day out with other folk and the cause seems most definitely worthwhile so would I be welcome to tag along please? How far are you going and does it start and end at the same place? Hope to hear from you and maybe get to meet done of you too? Regards, Clare

Even though this run has no links with or is supported by the MGF Register, I should point out that the information in the first post here is way out of date for anyone wishing to attend.

The latest start point details and further information can be found at http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=688481 not the thread mentioned by the OP here.

Also to clarify, anyone wishing to join in the parade lap at lunch time at Oulton Park - MG Car Clubs Race day, they need to show their MGCC membership card, NOT MGOC card, as the lap is only open to MG Car Club members. This point may save disappoinment on the day.

For anyone who's edging their bets and still deciding on whether to come along or not, this might tempt you:

Credit to Phil from .org for producing this :thumbsu:

Also, for anyone wanting to meet up and convoy in to Oulton park a number of us are meeting at The Hollow Tree, WA4 4LX, with a 10am meet and a convoy down to Oulton.
(Almost) All welcome :D - Will be great to see you there.

The "Old school" way of collecting...

Regarding the charity fund raising - I sent everyone I know an email with the link to the 'Just giving page', posted it on Twitter and Facebook and didn't get much response
:(
But it looks like it was worth walking around work today with a sponsorship form... As I've just raised an extra £85 for the charity by asking people face to face to donate!
:thumbsu:

I'll add the donation online when I've hopefully menaced some more out of people. ;)

But - Just to prove this old codger can keep up with this modern fangled technology - Please Make a Donation To The FRM Chosen Charity Here: https://www.justgiving.com/teams/FRM2014
