Thanks Guys....

When I say "cheap" I meant 'New' cheap... can't and won't fit 'Part-Worns' ..

Managed to source some new Firestones for around £48 each which is not to bad, so unless I find anything better it's looking like 'another' few hundred ££'s I have to spend on her Quality piece of Bavarian engineering!.. :(

TBH John I don't have a problem with 'Part-Worns' as such, but the Tyres are for my Wife's car and part of her Job is to run other people's children around so I would sooner not take the chance and fit new rubber just in case!.. ;)

if it is like ours there are 1000s of tyres (and they also sell new as well ) I have done 3000-3500 mls on my D2s and I have done 100+mph for 1-2 hours on the continent with no problems and my D2s were part worn 6-7mm on them when I got them £35 each

Got 4 new Firestones fitted in the end for £250, seem pretty good TBH and has transformed the cars ride and handling, also the road noise is now much better than before, so much so I suspected the rear diff had failed the original tyres were that noisy!.. :?
