Re: MGCC South West Centre 80th Anniversary Run
Here are the main details from the link in Colin's post above:
Eligibility
The event is open to all members of the MG Car Club.
Description of Event
The event shall comprise three, pre-arranged routes converging on Chew Valley Lake Picnic Area for an informal gathering. Members not wishing to follow the pre-arranged routes may make their own way to the finish.
Route One shall start from the Lake Grounds at Portishead, North Somerset at 10.30am. Refreshments are available from the Lakeside Cafe, and there are public toilets nearby (for which there is a small charge). The leader for Route One is Neil Lock.
Route Two shall start from the picnic area at the top of Tog Hill, on the A420 between Bristol and Chippenham at 10.30am. There are no facilities at this location. The leader for Route Two is Jim Lott.
Route Three shall start from Haynes International Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset at 10.30am. Breakfast and/or hot drinks can be purchased from Café 750MC from 9am onwards; those partaking of refreshments can park without charge, for all others there will be a charge of £3 to use the parking area. The leader for Route Three is Bruce Weston.
Participants will be start as directed by the Route Leader at time intervals to be determined (but no less than one minute). The routes are almost exclusively on minor and unclassified roads. Route Two passes through Bath in order to visit the location of the inaugural meeting of the Centre.
The event shall finish at Chew Valley Lake Picnic Area at or before 12.30pm. Facilities include a fish café, tearoom and takeaway (visit http://www.saltmalt.com for details including menus and contact details should you wish to book a table at what is normally a very busy time), picnic tables and toilets. There is a small fee for parking (currently £2); unfortunately, Bristol Water cannot make reserved parking available, but experience would suggest that space will not be an issue.
There is no entry fee for the event (noting parking charges detailed above), but any member intending to join one of the pre-arranged routes must book their place in advance as numbers are limited by the Certificate of Exemption. Members intending to make their own way to the finish are requested to signify their intention by e-mail.
The organiser of this event is Neil Lock, 56 Nightingale Rise, Portishead, BS208LN. All enquiries via e-mail (neil@lockfamily.org) or the MGCC SW Facebook Page please.

Re: MGCC South West Centre 80th Anniversary Run
Great run to Chew Valley lake from Haynes, brilliant weather. Some lovely MG's looking really good in the sunshine.
Ice cream on the way home, topped off a brilliant day.
