Run to Portland - Saturday 7th October

Post by nigelandjo » Wed Aug 16, 2017 9:19 pm

It was suggested that we had a run down to Portland before the year is out. How are people fixed if we scheduled this for Saturday 7th October?

It is indeed 8-) ~ with being away on holiday followed by Silverstone at the weekend I haven't had any time to sort anything, but as there's a few us available on the day, then yes it will be going ahead unless the weather forecast is atrocious.

Arrangements for the day will be fairly flexible, but we will meet at the Castle Garden Centre, New Road, Sherborne, DT9 5NR http://www.thegardeneronline.co.uk/loca ... s-location at 10.30am for coffee, before heading to Portland. We will have stop for lunch at some point.

Weather forecast looking dry. An option for lunch is the Lobster Pot pub which is adjacent to the lighthouse at the tip of Portland: www.lobsterpotrestaurantportland.co.uk/index.php

Still time to add your name to the list. Can you confirm your attendance please.

A great day out. Thank you all for showing us around Portland Bill and the surrounding area, which was our first ever visit there. Lovely lunch too. Dave and Sue.

It was a good day out, a bit breezy. Perhaps we could consider doing another run somewhere next year.

Could certainly do one on a warm summers day and have a picnic somewhere.

That would be good. Perhaps a run to the New Forest?
