Anyone with a pscan in Bournemouth area?

Post by Doc n Deb » Wed Mar 22, 2023 9:31 am

Is there anyone in the Bournemouth area with a pscan diagnosis tool?
I have a problem with the unlocking driver's door lock.
The lock was replace less than a year ago and is not not working again.

I've tried calling 4 local auto locksmiths and have not received a call back from any.
If someone can help out, there are beer tokens waiting....
Many thanks in advance,
Doc

I have one but am at the far side of Somerset. More than likely the lock has seuzed, rather than an electrical fault. Have you checked the plug connectors in the door?

Hi Nigel, I had problems with the locks about a year ago- the ratty-tat tats and getting locked inside the car (with the hard top on!!) replaced the mechanisms with new at that time, ££££ ouch!. The door is now closed and door card on, so hard to check mechanism.
I do have a car-locksmith coming tomorrow afternoon to try to get it open so I can get the door card off. Hopefully will know more tomorrow evening or Friday. Will let you know then.

Not the ratty-tat-tat issue if they are only a year old. Hopefully something simple.

A bit of a follow-up. Problem solved by a local mechanic.
I had been keeping it unlocked in the drive for a couple months and had been fine as long as not locked.
I had a chat with a local 'family run' shop and one of the lads was real keen on newer MGs.
He has a V6 MGZR.
He worked some magic and all is good now, but, life has changed and the MGF is now sold to a former work mate
who is retiring at the end of the summer and no longer can afford the new Audi on the 'never-never'.

Thank you to all that have offered advice in the past and hope to see you in the future.
Keep your eyes open for an all Black 1958 ZB Magnette and give a wave.
Cheers, Doc n Deb
