Sunday 2nd May ~ Abingdon Works Car Show

Post by nigelandjo » Thu Mar 18, 2010 10:01 pm

Don't know if anyone else saw the ad for this on page 47 of this months Safety Fast magazine. Is anyone else interested in attending, either participating in the run to the event (from either Reading or Aylesbury) or just turning up at the actual event? Details of the event can be found here: http://www.abingdonfayre.com/whatson.php

Would anyone be interested in making it a weekend event, in place of our June Castle Coombe / MG's in the Park weekend as they're not on the same weekend this year (as far as we know)?

Received a reply from the run organiser. He recommends starting the run from Reading between 9-9.30am. This would mean an early start from home! Is anyone else interested in travelling up the day before and staying near Reading? I'm sure we can find a good route to the Reading area taking in a few interesting places.

That's great Stu. Start point for the run is actually Caversham.

How about this hotel?

http://www.laterooms.com/en/hotel-reser ... ading.aspx

We'd need to book quickly at this price for a 4 star hotel.

It looks good. We can always find somewhere else for evening meal if we want, but if we want the discount price for the evening meal we'll need to book it when we book the room. We're happy either way.
