nelly and joo Help!

Post by simonrouse12 » Fri Feb 08, 2008 8:52 pm

My head gasket has gone. I had a bloke that was going to do it but he has let me down and wasted a week of my time. I was wondering if you knew of a garage or do you know of a good mechanic. If anyone else knows of a good mechanic in the Yeovil area let me know please.

Simon,

Sorry to hear about your Head Gasket. Have you tried Vincents in Yeovil (ex-Rover dealer and Xpart Autoservice centre) or Mike Rolls (http://www.mikerolls4mgs.co.uk) in Fivehead Magdalen (don't know if he does modern MGs though)? Haven't used either of them, but they're local to you and Mike Rolls gets a 5 Star from the other club for MG's.

Hope you're back motoring soon,

Nigel

Sorry to hear that Simon. :(

Try DCB on the Lynx trading estate or Preston Park Garage. I know they have both done Head Gaskets but as for cost, ?????????????????

Good Luck.

Nelly.

Sorry to hear that Simon.

Make sure that they do a proper job, whoever does it - I know some who got a real cheap job, only for it to happen again a little while later!

Is it worth changing cambelt, tensioner and water pump etc whilst its all in bits?

Good luck mate!

Should be getting it today, touch wood. Skimmed head, cambelt, water pump, new clutch master cylinder. Costing loads. To off set the cost a bit I'm going to put my hardtop on ebay. It's the same colour as yours so if your interested give me a shout.

Hope all is well with the HG repair etc. Thank's for the offer of the hardtop Simon, but we have 2 already. One for each of the girl's TF's. No more room in the garage for any more in the summer. 8-)
