15th&18th August'13 Pre & Post MGFIM gathering @ Blankenberg

I have taken the infomation from the main MGFIM event thread viewtopic.php?f=45&t=13173&start=20

For anyone interested a plan is being hatched by Steffi to stay in Blankenberg, near Hennef, Cologne on the way down on the Thursday night and / or the way back Sunday night. We know of a great restaurant and hotel with plenty parking there.

We would stay at my hometown 53773 Hennef - Stadt Blankenberg about 30 miles south-east of Cologne.
It´s a small medieval town with a population of about 250 people inside a town wall.
Here are some pics, so everyone who likes to come can have an idea of where to stay

Blankenberg is, from memory, approx 1.5 hours North of the potential base venue for MGFIM

Steffi has posted pictures of the town in the main thread (which hopefully cam be copied here also) viewtopic.php?f=45&t=13173&start=20

This thread is to help Steffi with numbers etc to help organise the nights (the one before and after MGFIM)

If there are about 15 of us, then Steffi will arrange a special treat for us all, probably for the Thursday

Talking with Steffi, the suggestion is that we all meet up at the McDonalds just off the motorway on the way to Blankenberg at 4pm German time
We will then lead you to your hotel in Blankenberg and do our best to prevent you from being caught on camera by the hidden speed camera!!

This is approx 250 miles and 3.75 hours from Dunkirk

We hope that is ok and helps decide what ferry to get

Probably won't be able to make this Colin as Dawn is committed to work the whole of August and early September. She will use two days owing just to get the Friday and Monday to travel to and from MGFIM.
