I was there today, what a mess. DFDS have cancelled all sailings from Harwich for the week as they still can't use the dock, I saw bent railings and things where things should not be. Couldn't get any closer though.
Bilstein shocks, Piper 4-2-1 manifold, Daytona, Vader cold-air induction, custom Z and F Stage 2 re-map, Electric boot release, braided hoses, Blue Magnecor leads, Technozen relays, Stage 1 head, BMW Angel Eyes headlights, "MG" puddle lights.

So I wonder what those who were booked to sail have had to do?? 8-)

The favourite appears to be your money back or Harwich-Hook of Holland as the ship for Esbjerg is still unfit and they use a different dock.

Dear MG friends!

I do work on a Norway tour. A pdf brochure will be ready, hopefully, next week.
Until then, here is some words about the tour as it is today:

Why do the tour?
We have an annual MG event in Norway (Norsk MG Treff/Norwegian MG event) at the south coast the weekend before EEOTY 2014.
Many MG friends have during the years asked for a Norway tour. It was easy for me to see the possiblity to make a pre-EEOTY tour here in Norway when people do pay for the DFDS Harwich-Esbjerg ferry anyway. I have booked ferry`s and accomodation for 15 cars and 30 persons.

The program is like this:
Wednesday 13th August: You leave Harwich with DFDS ferry for Esbjerg in Denmark, two bed ourside cabin for two persons plus a car.

Thursday 14th: arrive Esbjerg and drive up til Hirtshals north in Denmark for the late evening Color Line highspeed ferry to Kristiansand in Norway.
Over night stay at hotel in Kristiansand.

Friday 15th: driving west on narrow roads along the coast, meeting the participants from the Norsk MG Event. From now we follow the program for the Norwegian event. (On this event we are 40-60 cars) We stay at Lista Flypark until Sunday.

Saturday 16th: we follow the program for the event. We will explore beautiful scenery along the coast.

Sunday 17th: The Norsk MG event is over and we start our own tour, head north to the Lysebotn/Lysefjord, over the mountain Suleskard and end the day at Groven. This night we stay in timber cabins made in the 1700-1800 century.

Monday 18th: we continue over the Rauland mountain, decend to the city Rjukan. Visit the museum for the Heavy water action in the WW2. Continue to the Gaustatoppen mountain where we use a little train inside the mountain to the top. From the top we can see most of the southern Norway and all the way to Denmark if weather is good. Down again we continue over three minor mountains before we end here where I live, Ål in Hallingdal. We stay at the hotel here for two nights. We display the cars outside the hotel in the evening.

Tuesday 19th: Western Norway all day! The Aurlandfjord and Sognefjord, and mountains. We head west over Hol-Aurland, use some old mountain roads some places, explore the nature and scenery. If you want it is possible to take a tour with the world famous Flåm railway line.

Wednesday 20th: to day you have two choise:
- you follow my first plan, driving to the ferry port in Larvik, use the High speed ferry to Hirtshals in Denmark and continue to EEOTY at Nyborg via an over night stay.
- Some have told me they want to prolong the Norway stay. Then I make a tour for you until Saturday when you follow the same route to Denmark. Cost and program for this will be worked out for those doing this choise.
All go back with the DFDS ferry from Esbjerg Sunday 24th August.

It looks like the total price will be around 17.000,- Norwegian kroner, with todays exhange rate it will be around £1775 but I still work to get the price lower.

This include:
DFDS ferry Harwich-Esbjerg-Harwich, two bed outside cabin, two persons and a car.
ColorLine Highspeed ferry in Voyager class Hirtshals-Kristiansand and Larvik-Hirtshals for two persons and a car.

One night at hotel in Kristiansand city 14-15th august, two persons and breakfast.
Participating the Norsk MG Event Friday to Sunday, including lunch Friday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday. Breakfast Sunday (and a suprise or two..). Double rooms at Lista Flypark.

Sunday staying in timber cabin/cottage from 17-1800 century. Barbeque dinner and breakfast monday morning made by us selves!

Monday, the tour in the Vemork museum and the train to Gausta mountain top for two persons. Dinner and over night stay at hotel in Ål, Hallingdal.
Double room and breakfast.

Tuesday, staying at the same hotel, dinner, breakfast Wednesday.

Wednesday, the ferry from Larvik in Norway to Hirtshals in Denmark.
____________

Accomodation at Tylstrup in Denmark not included but will work out a good offer at Tylstrup Kro for those who want to stay there.
(you book and pay directly to the Tylstrup Kro)

This just to give you an idea what I work with. The invitation I hope will be ready end of next week will give you correct cost and program with more details.

Kind Regards

Thanks for putting out the details at last, I'm sure this will tempt several people in joining us. In the flyer Steinar is preparing he has placed a number of pictures and links to related web-sites, these show a fantastic area.

Having met a number of his friends I know it's going to be a lively tour, that's for sure.

So we can help Steinar can we let him know here who is interested with the view of attending for approximately two weeks :

I hadn't been planning to attend EEOTY but am very interested in a Norway tour. The proposed extension of the Norway stay until Saturday then same route to Denmark. All go back with the DFDS ferry from Esbjerg Sunday 24th August.
