2014 Iberian meeting - when is best???

Post by colintf » Thu Apr 25, 2013 10:32 pm

2013's event has just been held in Portugal, and some information and a couple of pictures can be found at the end of this thread - viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9500

Nacho would very much like some of us from outside of the Spain / Portugal area to join them next year, and is asking for ideas as to when to hold the event

"We have just finished our VI Iberian Meeting. We had a lot of fun some days ago in Portugal. I'm sharing with you some pictures of the event, you can use them for any purpose that you consider interesting.

We are a small community (compared with the numbers in UK) but we managed to consolidate this yearly meeting between cars from Spain and Portugal. Luís Castro and myself are making our best to keep the spirit alive at both sides of the border.

Our yearly meetings use to gather around 20 cars (sometimes more, sometimes less) during a full weekend, to enjoy the regional food, the landscapes and of course, to enjoy our F&TF passion. It's a really interesting way of sharing our experiences, doubts and achievements with our cars.

You can see some pictures of past events in our web page: www.mgftf.com I'm thinking in a complete renewal of the site, so you can only have a look at pictures from the four first meetings. I think it's enough to know us better.

As you have seen in the forum, we use to invite everybody from UK and rest of Europe to our meetings. I know it's really difficult for you to meet us and further more, we don't use to have clear details of the meetings in enough advance.

So, I ask for your guidance. Could you please think in a date for the VII Iberian Meeting? Maybe you can check the 2014 calendar and try to find a suitable weekend when maybe some people from outside Iberian peninsula can join us. We'll compromise that date and start to organize the event from now on. What do you think? We would like to internationalize our next meeting and the only way is to organize it in advance.

All the best!

Nacho"

It certainly looks a great region to visit :thumbsu:

Over to you, anyone interested and if so when?

Hello Nacho. Yes I would certainly be interested in the Iberian meeting. I Have been wanting to attend for the last two years but the dates have been wrong for me. Can I suggest either the end of May or September when the days would still be lovely but not too hot as we would look to be driving down.

Nacho, we have been interested in your meeting for some time and like Simon would suggest either May or early September. The weather would be cooler and we could extend our stay to tour either both of your countries.

Safety fast, Ian and Liz :)

Hi Nacho. I toured Spain by motorcycle a few years ago - Bilbao, Pamplona, Jaca, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Leon, Gijon area - and the Pyrennees by MG 3 years ago based near Arreau in France. We would both really like to return in 2014 if it can be arranged. Like the others, May or September would suit us best - weather and avoid school holidays - but no work so no ties.

Nacho. Not wishing to rush you but has there been any updates yet on your 2014 Iberian meeting as the calendar is now beginning to fill up. May would be a preference because September has several programmes already.

Nacho is user name Madrid on the forum. You can send him a PM or email through the forum system.

He actually did not post this thread about the event but has been on fairly recently so hopefully you can catch up with him.
