Hey Ton,

I have just checked, the road running alongside the zoo is a transit road, which is free to use without umweltplakette - if you find a place to park the car on that very road. The same applies to the main transit routes including the motorway from Blankenberg and the Zoobrücke (zoo bridge), which will take you there. Also the transit to the motorway in western direction (to Holland) is unrestricted.

Ton (and all the others): If you need an umweltplakette: Just mail me a scan of your registration document containing the first reg date and the type of engine (petrol!), and I will get the sticker for you from our local TÜV for 5 Euros, I can then bring them to Blankenberg. If it's a Diesel, it may be a bit more difficult.

Thank you very much Mykel. For 5 euro's and a beer (or two) I'm not going to take the risk of getting a ticket.

I'll send you an email. :thumbsu:

Tell me about it, my mileage is up to 1,500 miles per week and I rarely leave Essex. 12 and 13 hour days are normal and I'm a volunteer :P :P

Here is a timetable for our Christmas gathering this weekend:

Those of you arriving on the Saturday, should be at the hotel at 12:00 at the latest ( so you still have some time to check in and refresh).
At 12:30 a bus will bring us to Cologne Central Station where we will meet those directly coming to Cologne.
Than we will walk to the first Christmas market on the Roncalli-Platz.
Those who would like to visit the Cologne Cathedral will have the time to do so.

At 19:00 we will have our dinner at the Reissdorf im Mondial and at 23:00 the bus will bring us back to the hotel.

On Sunday we will have breakfast at the hotel and after that at about 10:30 we will drive to the Cologne Zoo.
Here the gathering will find it´s end and we will say goodby to those leaving for home.
The others will drive back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day.

For those that are already at the hotel Friday afternoon I have planned a little surprise :D

Now let´s hope the weather god is in a good mood and
I´m looking forward welcoming you on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
