Hi Adrian, Dawn, Neil and Barbara

We have decided to have a little brake away ourselves and will be in Løkken on Thursday till Friday.

If you have the time and you do go through Løkken on your way up, maybe you would like to meet for a bit.

We are staying at 'Kallehavegaard Badehotel, Søndergade 80, 9480 Løkken.

Have a nice and safe journey :thumbsu:

Have a nice trip to Norway friends!
I will meet you at the ferry port in Kristiansand Thursday when the ferry arrive.
Just now it is extreme weather in the area along the south coast, very much wind and rain.
But from Wednesday it is forecasted sun and good weather. :thumbsu:
Bet that will suit us well :D :D

At the moment we are staying at a former NATO airbase we have driven through some wonderful scenery on some fantastic roads we parked the cars in an old aircraft hanger overnight last night and had a BBQ then we boarded two classic buses & went to see the sunset preceded by a walk through a forest. We are looking forward to the rest of the trip.

Still here, mile after mile of stunning scenery, fantastic roads and vistas you can only dream of. We've driven some mountain passes over the years in the F and the TF but none of them come close to Norway. Wet and dry the cars are performing well. Up in the clouds, down in the fjords, along very narrow little roads with next to no traffic and no traffic lights since we got off the ferry one week ago this country is amazing, no wonder Steinar wanted us to visit. Forget the Stelvio and the Grossglockner these roads here top all of them, in fact it's hard to keep going as there's always another picture to take. We're really in to Troll pictures at the moment and we regularly stop suddenly to take another shot :D

Back home now after a shade over 2,000 miles. Crikey what fun, we enjoyed every kilometre. We even forgot to fuel Pearl once and after nearly three days of up and down mountains we realised we had none left, the nearest station was 40 kilometres away but luckily we were near the top of a mountain pass (we had just exited the Laerdal Tunnel, 15 miles long) so we went into fuel save mode and managed to get there as most was level ground or downhill, very easy right foot and slipstreaming Steinar helped  . Can you imagine a very steep drive up and down a fjord 31km's in each direction with a tunnel carved out of the rock and a 90 degree bend in the lower steepest section of the tunnel and it's mostly single lane, that's the Lysebotn :thumbsu: . A narrow closed road that hugs the edge of a steep fjord that is single lane laid with stones, grass and moss, that's the Boensbakkene, roads that challenge the Stelvio for turns, gradient and sheer driving fun that's the Trollstigen mountain or the Eagles Road, the highest point at 1,500 metres above a fjord, that's Dalsnibba (it's only open from mid May to mid September as it's inundated with snow the rest of the year :o ). Driving across the Aurland mountains is like driving on another planet, the scenery, clouds and snow are unrivelled in Europe. These are just a few that I can remember, there are so many you could chose from. You may think that 1,500 metres above sea level is not high, the Stelvio I think is 2,760 metres but in Norway the mountain drives commence at sea level as the lakes and fjords are everywhere and so beautiful in their blue and green colours.

I'll find a few pictures from the 1,300 taken later.

Thank you to Steinar and MG Norway for the priviledge of driving your great roads, I doubt they can be beaten. Sure there are other good roads that are a dream to drive but Norway is accessible and there are so many that quality and quantity is all in one place. It's expensive, there's no doubt about that. If you ever get the chance to go, do it I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
