Re: 22-23 Aug'15 Kempenrit 2015
Well, where to start?
Thankyou firstly to Luc, Bruno, Kasper, Erik, Tom and the rest of the mgf.be team for a great day on Saturday. We missed the earlier than published leaving time by 5 minutes and followed the route book to the first turn where the road was blocked and so relied on Tom Tom to get us to Ardooie for BBQ
Blocker Cafe did us proud with the BBQ and it was good to finally catch up with good friends old and new.
We then joined group 3 led by Kasper (thanks my friend) for a good drive to hotel Ve
Again, hotel Ve did us proud. Good to see that linking to the Mecure group has not lost the hotels flair and individuality.
The brewery tour was fantastic, great beer, great food, great company and a very interesting tour. Whisky was the icing on the cake
A super start to the day in the form of hotel Ve breakfast - yummie - followed by a drive to the event, again Kasper did a sterling job leading our group.
Arriving to find MGs of all types parked by colour and greeting by our friends MG Car Club Antwerp quickly brought back great memories from previous events. This years being no exception
We spent several hours chilling out and chatting with Kasper, Erik and Hans while others enjoyed the roadrun.
Sadly very heavy rain led to an early departure for some.
Yesterday evening saw the inevitable; a big group becomes several smaller groups. Steffi, Herbie, Kasper and I had a good walk around a now dry Mechelen before Kasper had a stroke of genius and led us to a place he had been to approx 7 years ago. This was a Greek restaurant tucked away in a side street. Wow, this really was the cherry on the icing! The food was really really good and the singing guitarist soon had us singing away to La Bamba and more at our table. Naturally after being the last to leave we found some others still up at hotel Ve, so a couple of night caps and all too soon it's Monday morning
Our thanks go to all those already mentioned as well as those on the event with us making it such a great weekend away.
Can't wait for the next one.........

I hear over 150 MGs and most were Fs and TFs so this must be the largest F and TF gathering outside of the uk this year

Re: 22-23 Aug'15 Kempenrit 2015
Really good excursion this weekend - thanks to all those who helped me smooth over a few cracks
It was a long time since 2006, but it brought back a lot of memories - well done to all the team involved.
Back home at 18.30, thunder and lightning, torrential rain both sides of the channel, floods on the M25, M4 shut at one point, but the little TF got me home safe in one piece.
Hope to see you all some time,
Jerry

So glad we decided to go to Kempenrit. Met some very good friends old and new who made the weekend special. Thanks to all the Belgium guys and gals for all the time and effort they put into making our stay so enjoyable and for leading us to and from our destinations. Another fantastic Kempenrit weekend.

Early Tuesday morning, first coffee after Kempenrit and about to write and comment. Read Colin's contribution and really cannot improve on that.
Thanks to all the team for Day Before and the Kempenrit. Always good to meet so many friends in a nice seeing.
Hopefully not the last time.

Lost luggage.
As we checked out from the Ve, reception found a fleece jacket that had been left. We bought it home to UK. Dark Green with distinctive MG car embroidery. Contact me.

If whoever modeled or photographed the jacket had looked in the pocket the Hotel Ve keycard wallet might have given a clue. Unless Simon Davis put his card holder in somebody else's jacket.

Dieter loved his trophy and wants to say thank you. Rosi also said thank you for her present.
Erik & Fran along with Hans & Annick thought it was very generous of the Day BeForers to provide them with their gifts.

Re: 22-23 Aug'15 Kempenrit 2015
Thanks for the kind words and -more important- for joining the events, Well appreciated !!
from the start on, it needed to be a revival, a rerun of the previous editions. The only part that didn't match the picture was the rain in the late afternoon. So I am glad everyone returned home safely. I had the Kempenrit feeling from many years ago and saw attendees which I haven't seen in 5 years time.
Up to the next event .... no more MGF Kempenit of a revival, let's think about something new
