Re: Nice winter car for sale
Was that an official MG colour?
I like the "engine of the Lotus Elise" line in the ad.
It's a shame right hand drive cars are worth so little, it's a 11year old car that's done 56'000 miles and is still nearly £4000 even at todays exchange rate.

European lhd cars are worth much more our red uk cars, and Scandinavia prices are higher still

Re: Nice winter car for sale
Very difficult to compare different markets, I’m afraid James. The RHD market is quite small, not many people from the continent would buy them (except for nutjobs like myself), and it’s even illegal to register them in some places.
Also, some countries charge massive “first registration fees” ( can easily be 5,000 Euros in Holland for example), which are then written off over time, so this would add to the value of the car.
Here in Germany market prices for MGFs are meanwhile dropping towards UK levels in many cases, a bog standard 98 model in need of TLC will definitely go for three figure numbers.
You’re probably right about the Monogram, Col, Glacier (IAD) from the pics in the ad. Would make her one of only six ZRs ever made in that colour, so probably well worth the wad o’dough they’re asking for ... supposing she’s really a “vierge” as is said in the headline
EDIT: You are right, Col, it indeed says IAD in the ad, I should’ve read all of it before posting.

Maybe I need to start planning a trip to Stoneleigh? Haven't been for last 3 years. More a social trip for me as I've only once bought a part for any of my MGs - and that was probably my 1996 VVC.

Re: Nice winter car for sale
Back to topic ... I had made an inquiry about the ZR as I remembered Michael N from the Cologne group was after one. As I sent it in French, the guys actually answered, le véhicule a était vendu ce samedi. Which was logical, given the rarity, the pretty good condition and the price. If it hadn’t been so small ...
So if anyone comes across a nice LHD Monogram ZT-T, CDTi preferred, fully loaded with electric leather seats, sunroof, cruise control and auto gearbox, please send PM

A lhd monogram ZTT cdti to that spec, mmmmm, that's a waiting game, but they must be out there!! Once found, the first thing I would do is give it a good check over and service followed by the 160 remap as the transforms the cdti into what it should of been if BMW hadn't put certain restrictions on it

Over here it’s even a waiting game to find any MG ZTT or 75 Tourer with this spec, regardless of colour options, especially if you look for one with the 1,300 euro DPF already fitted, so I can still drive into any of the next cities (green sticker required).
About the remap, would that kill the DPF instantly?

No, totally safe with 160hp, it's what the car should of had if BMW were not so worried about it beating the 3 series diesel at the timeMykel wrote:Over here it’s even a waiting game to find any MG ZTT or 75 Tourer with this spec, regardless of colour options, especially if you look for one with the 1,300 euro DPF already fitted, so I can still drive into any of the next cities (green sticker required).

Sorry, I thought you meant a DMF Dual Mass Flywheel.
Why fit a DPF? We don't have them on uk zt / 75s I believe.

Unfortunately it's required here to get the green emissions sticker on a diesel. Without one, you'd only get a yellow one, which means being virtually locked out of every major city.
And a CDTi it has to be for the power to tow a trailer laden with an MGF, if you know what I mean
