Importing a TF to Spain

I'm thinking about taking a TF to a holiday home in Spain. Has anyone done this or can offer any advice? My own car is quite modified with miltek exhaust & lowered on eibach/ xpower springs, along with a few other bits that can be got around quite easily. Would this be a problem with the ITV or am I better off taking a standard car over?

Thanks.

ITV?

Are you planning on keeping the TF there or just for a few months?

Leaving it there, ITV is the Spanish equivalent of MOT, but much stricter.

Hello daz !

I sent the link of this question to a friend settled Spain. He has imported a TF160 Vintage Racing (the same as my MG) from France to Spain.
He must know how is the feeling of the ITV about modifications on the cars.

Hello Daz
Hakan here
It should be no problem and I use a company called Spanisk Number plates
mail:info@spanish-number-plates.com and talk with Leigh or Graham and say hello from me
Cost is 750 Euro for converting plus roadtax and they have good knowledge of this work

Hi Haken.

Sorry I've only just seen your reply. Does that include the lhd lights?

Don't TFs have a lever to switch to LHD?

No, it just flattens the beam for temporary European use, it doesn't kick it over to the right like a proper LHD light, so it won't pass the ITV.
