Those of us that stay there will know where I mean, but I won't post the name / location as I don't know how public she wants it known....
Maria and family are going to sell the hotel, and she does not know when it will re open.
We often use it as an overnight stop on the way to / from further afield and often refer to it as our Luxembourg hotel of choice
If your after somewhere to stop in Luxembourg then I would look at other options and maybe book something you can cancel elsewhere, in the hope the hotel reopens, either way if the hotel re-opens, Maria won't be there.
Kind of sad news really

Re: Maria's Hotel in Luxembourg
That’s really sad news, Colin, both the hotel and Maria herself being iconic to the MG family. I remember well my very first MG event in 2011 and indeed still have her confirmation email for our room on that tour. Five years later, Maria did not only cater for all our needs in her very special, charming way, but also organised our group’s stay with two other hotels in You-Know-Where, as we were too many for her lovely place.
It’s a shame to see this go, and as you say, even if it re-opens (which it will, the place is just too good), it won’t be the same without her.

Re: Maria's Hotel in Luxembourg
We've stayed with Maria quite a few times, it's a shame she is selling but, I wish her & her family well for the future.

Re: Maria's Hotel in Luxembourg
Indeed, many happy memories there for many of us. As hotels go, Maria made it our Luxembourg home for us
