The MG “river cruises” are becoming a tradition! With the Rhine and the Elbe done so far, there will be a successor in 2020 – down the Weser! For a whole week we will be driving through various regions, experiencing nature, culture, technology and decent food, and lots of fun together. This year’s hotel availability allows us to take up to 30 MGs of all years on the tour.
As the Weser has no proper source (it’s made up of the two smaller rivers Fulda and Werra), you’ll get THREE rivers for the price of one this time!
We will meet on the 4th of July 2020 in Bad Hersfeld on the Fulda. From there we will drive downstream and back along the Fulda river, then hop over to the source of the Werra and from there roughly via Eisenach, Hann. Münden, the Weser Uplands, Porta Westfalica and the Middle Weser Plains to Bremen.
On the 11th July we will reach the Weser estuary just outside Bremerhaven, at the “Kleiner Preuße” lighthouse.
Registration opens on 5th January 2020 on the web site http://www.mgf-tours.de.

Looks good Michael - the Weser is a lovely river flowing though some very interesting places, we (Karin and I) register our interest but health issues need to be addressed first

For those Brits that may not know the Weser there is an excellent web site at https://www.mygermancity.com/weser - I hope the author doesn't mind me posting this connection. Some of the old Treffeners may remember our visit to Hamlyn a few years back -- http://www.tednewman.me.uk/2004day9.htm
