help, now living in spain with my MGF 2001, brake lights will not go off, how can i check the wiring and where. of course being a female i am limited in technical matters.

Its a well known problem usually the brake light swithch, have a look on Pete's site www.mgf-tf-central.co.uk click on Tips & Tricks then Electrics then Brake lights always on.
You should be able to sort them using the tips on there.

Call Nacho (Ignacio Garcia Sanchez) he lives in Madrid but he has friends around Spain, some with mechanical knowledge of MG's. You will find him at spain@mgfregister.org
