10th Anniversary of the Treffen

Post by Green Squirrel » Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:54 am

A few of the 'originals' are thinking of doing an anniversary run to mark the first Treffen in 1999. To this end I have been thinking up a suitable route and the following is my first attempt at a draft:-

Hi all

Been working on the ideas and as we are away for a few days I thought I would post our general thoughts for you to read and to comment on!

Dates;- Out Saturday 05 September Home Saturday 19 September.

Drive through France (1 overnight stop) to Interlaken for 3 nights stay.

One day at leisure and one day drive out including the Rhone Glacier (last chance to see it before Global Warming turns it into a mud slide).

Drive to Meran for 1 night in the Italian Alps Via St Moritz and the Stelvio Pass.

Drive to Garmisch Partenkirchen for 3 nights via a scenic route.

One day at leisure and one day drive out.

Drive to the Black Forest for 2 nights.

Drive out or at leisure

Drive to the Mosel for 2 nights.

Morning at leisure afternoon drive out and visit to the Nurburgring (only open in the evening).

Drive to the Champagne region for 2 nights.

Drive out and visit to Champagne House.

Drive to Calais for ferry home.
