All paperwork and VIN plate pictures are fine and will work.
The green sticker for Keith is already on my workdesk. (Had to do another trial with the special V5)

Work in progress...
7 of ready as the V5 had been supplied
Had another couple of strange experiances with numbering, though.

Swiss and Austrian stickers to follow.
I'll be off for our Trip to the Alps tomorrow, and back on next Tuesday.

You should have seen the with "spaghetti with dandelion" ... or other tasty creations *yamyam*
Anyway, today the Swiss Vignettes arrived. I'll ship them to Adrian for further distribution.
Would suggest to put on the above sticker collection as late as possible.
Just in case the MG needs a new windscreen before you get over here
All from inside:
- the green on the drivers side lower corner
- the red and the yellow on top of the co-drivers side (i.e. LH of the windscreen mirror)

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Good advice about fitting as late as possible, this I have already mentioned, just as well for Simon as he has to have a new windscreen fitted tomorrow

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
May sound like a stupid question, but how are you meant to stick the swiss vignette on? Just went to put mine on so I wont forget it and found it was sticky on the back, so when stuck on the inside of the screen it would be back to front. Is that correct?

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Yep you have to stick it on the inside, It has weak points in it that will break if you remove the vignette making it impossible to reuse the sticker.
MGFvvc - 90FVBG - charcoal - you might think it is original - (1996 nr:8204)
MGTF 120 - 57RNJ7 - BRG - every day is an MG day - (2005)
MGC CGT - SJ08DY - tartan red - 1985 restauration fairly original - (1968 nr: 4137)

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Have you removed the thin plastic Vignette from the backing, or perhaps the 'Fronting' as it is on the front face ?? This face is very sticky so you have one chance to stick it on the inside of the screen.
As Kasper says, the Vignette is cut into radial strips so that it cannot be removed (thieved) and reapplied.
I have an 08 Vignette but it is on the wrong car.

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Thats the thing Geoff, mine seems to have backing, so the sticky side is on the reverse of the vignette. So if I were to stick it to the inside of the screen, when viewed from outside you would see the reverse of the vignette, not the front face. The front face isn’t sticky at all. It’s the opposite way round to my Austrian vignette which was sticky on the front and had ‘fronting’.Geoff.F wrote:Have you removed the thin plastic Vignette from the backing, or perhaps the 'Fronting' as it is on the front face ?? Geoff F,
At the moment I am thinking about either get a tax disk holder or just taping it to the screen so I can fit it facing out.
Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Steve, Your Vignette must have come from Nigeria. If it is not adhered correctly, then you are liable to be Fined, particularly when you get stopped for speeding..
Fitting using Cling Wrap may not be so noticeable.

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Strange Geoff mine is the same as Steves. The sticky side is on what I would have thought is the back as the number on it would only be read from inside the car. It looks as if it needs fitting to the outside of the screen? Does the number on the Vignette need to be able to read from the outside of the car? Puzzling

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Have stuck mine on the inside of the screen as per the instructions. It has he same yellow/green colours on the other side but the '08' is a different colour (purple).
Have kept the backing which has the instructions on so can dispute any fines if need be, as it has been applied in accordance with the instructions I have.

Re: Swiss & Austrian Motorway vignettes
Will do the same here once I have cleaned the screen again. Noticed the 08 was a different colour on that face but still seems strange not to be able to read the ID number on it from outside the car
