National Meeting

Post by Andrew Regens » Thu Apr 09, 2009 7:50 am

Have giv'in the car a wash and vac, passed the Karcher over the engine and under the front, looking much better. Still won't compare to the real polishers but with a second hand kat she at least will be allowed to run in the hillclimb and the motorkhana. So I will be off the air for five days but can be found in Geelong. There are some 257 MG's with 480 people and entries from all over including four from Western Australia ( 3500Km Approx ) plus a few people from overseas but without their cars. 11% will be F/TF's ( 28 ), which is the fastest growing register. I will do my best at taking a photo or two. Have a happy Easter.

Well it's over and after a long weekend of perfect weather, plenty of driving, good company plus lots of food and drink, aaah. Now before you ask where are the photos, I have to confess that in my haste to leave home I left my camera on the charger, so I am waiting for pictures from other competitors. There was a casualty in one of the F's hitting the wall rather hard on the hill climb and another breaking both wishbones on the journey down from Queensland, he puts it down to PU bushes, the same cause for mine going last year.

Yes, is the simple answer. Prior to the race meet, I met Jason last year at the race track and also club nights. I was an official at the meeting, communications at turn 6 where cars start to think of braking for some esses and a very sharp turn 9. When people go off it is at high speed. Jason's other half has a Trophy Yellow TF. They brought three cars from the UK with them, his Tom Cat, racing TF and the road car. The Tomcat would have to race with Porsche GT3's as it's the only one of it's type overhere, he is trying toget it re grouped.
