Newbie in Wokingham

Post by M6VLR » Tue Sep 20, 2016 6:11 pm

Hi all

After a couple of years dithering about whether to take the plunge or not, I treated myself to a 2001 1.8 MPi.

It wasn't much to look at but it was cheap and I let my heart rule my head.

After a few days I realised that it handled like a pig and there had to be something seriously wrong, and resorted to Google to check what the problem might be.

My search led me here and after trawling through the wealth of knowledge it became clear that the 16" rims weren't standard so they had to go.

Now it sits on a set of 15" V spokes and its totally transformed the handling.

So thanks to everyone that has posted here and saved me from a total mental breakdown.

All that remains now is a few cosmetic touches........
