Hello from an old name...

Post by ZSx » Wed Apr 19, 2017 11:29 am

Hello all!

Some of you may remember me from XPF of old, some from TheMGZS and some from other places.

But for those that don't, my name is Sam, I currently drive a MK2 ZS180 (PeteT16's old car) and a 1997 MGF. Also on my drive I have a ZT-T CDTi (sold, getting picked up in a week or so) and another ZS180 MK2 that is being stripped (rear end collision, in my ownership, and bad maintenance by its former owners means its finally time to strip and let its parts save others) and a Hyundai Coupe (fully airbrushed up... oh yeah my Mrs is an airbrush artist!)

As far as the MG community goes, I used to Admin on XPF before Steve took it over, ran as admin on Brit-Cars for a while and now host and admin on TheMGZS. I have been around the scene for over 15 years and notice a lot of names on here that I recognise.

I had an N reg MGF a few years back, but kids (was single dad back then) forced sale, so now I have the opportunity to get another, which I did last week :) and loving it!

If there are any other questions, or if I can be of any help at all, please let me know - I'm sure I will ask a few MGF tech questions at some point!

Oh and before I go... most stupid thing I have done recently? Well, I decided to "fix" the sloppy gear change in the F and over tightened the bolts suggested elsewhere on this forum, meaning the copper bush has swolen and now gears are a pig! Still you live and learn, and its a perfect excuse for a slick shift from Mr Satur ;)

Next steps for the F are a new hood, roll hoops and wind deflector, also sort out the radio and speakers as they are all blown and the radio randomly stops working!

Hello Sam

It always amazes me how many ZS owners also have an F, I personally currently have a mk2 ZS180 in pearl black.
