New forum member from Highcliffe, Dorset
Hello Everyone
I got my 54 plate MG TF 2 days ago after owning a SMART Roadster and so far I am absolutely loving it!. I am currently situated in Highcliffe Dorset but I am also very well acquainted with Southampton, Winchester, and Portsmouth areas
I know c5aliveKarl and radiomarty through the C5 Alive website / forum as I am also a owner of a Sinclair C5. It seems to be a recurring theme that C5-ers buy MGFs/TFs
Back to my MG TF....
It currently has 53k on the clock but has been kept very well by the previous owner (who was a member of the MG Owners Club). It does have some 'Mayonnaise' on the coolant tank cap but I haven't noticed any issues with the running of the engine, engine temperature, oil contamination or vapor coming out of the exhaust. I will have to do some research through its history and see if the head gasket has been changed at any point.
Here is a link to my Flickr Photo-set of the car:

Welcome to the MGF Register forum. I'm just up the road from you in Salisbury - I know Highcliffe very well.
You might want to take a look on the South Coast section of the forum, as there are number of us in the area and we join the AWC natter at the Dolphin Pub at Hursley, just east of Romsey - there are at least two others who come over from Poole. Hope to see you there sometime

Re: New forum member from Highcliffe, Dorset
Hi,
Welcome to the MG F register forum, nice friendly place this.
Some of us from Southern and Somerset/Dorset will be down at Poole Quay on Friday 5th July for the open top sports car evening. Have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15140
Also as Nigel said, the Abingdon Works Centre (AWC) natter at the Dolphin Inn in Hursley , the next one is this coming Tuesday 25th I think?
The Mayo on the header tank cap - could be due to the car only ever having done mainly short runs, not getting hot enough. So I would clean the cap up and then keep a careful eye on it. The real issue with Mayo is when the oil starts to look like that, that is almost certainly the early signs of the Head Gasket starting to go, so regular oil level checks are good.
Hope to meet you soon

Whereabouts are you situated? Would be nice to meet up at Poole Quay one month (or any other meeting) if you can pass your MOT
