New to the MGF
Hello everyone.
My '97 Diamond white MGF VVC got delivered to me on Monday 18th August so I'm new to the forum and the register as well as the MGF.
I'm in the Aylesbury area and I'm already building up a long list of questions to ask!

Hi Scruffy, welcome to the Register.
Ask away I sure did when we got Cath's F, the experience and expertise from the members on here was invaluable to us.
As my old Nan used to say "the only silly question is the one you don't ask"
Your 97 Diamond white MGF VVC sounds great, get some photo's up soon so we can all start drooling over it
Gary

Re: New to the MGF
Hi Gary and Dave J.
Thank you for the welcome.
Here's a couple of pics I took a bit of a risk as she was purchased without actually getting to inspect the car, but she came from a well known and trusted source from what I can gather, in fact they have already sent me a couple of spare parts that I'm going to need FOC! (Not sure whether I'm allowed to mention the companies name). I based my buy on lots of supplied pics including underside shots and a bit of history. I've found a few of things that need fixing but from what I can see they are common on the MGF and especially a 17 year old MGF VVC!
She is very clean and looks great. I have a lot of tinkering to do and I may well be buying a few shiney treats as well!
My guess is that the Q's should be put in the Technical area of the forum.
Regards
Scruffy

Re: New to the MGF
Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy your MG as much as the rest of us. I'm based in Buckingham and trying to get a few register meets organised locally. If you fancy a run over to Little Horwood any time there is a natter at the Shoulder of Mutton on the second Thursday of the month. You would be most welcome to join a growing number of F and TF owners. I'll post any events on the South Midlands forum. Hope to meet up some time.
Cheers
Gary

Re: New to the MGF
Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome.
She came from MGFnTFBitz in Glossop and for it's age seems to be a nice one with a few things needing doing, but no more than you'd expect on a 17 year old car.
She's very good underneath and has had stainless water pipes, radiator, replacement underbody protector plate etc all done. Also had the head gasket, tensioner and cambelt replaced.
Obvious things that need doing are:
Hinge bushes on the passenger door (drivers side seems OK)
Seized and sheared spare wheel retaining bolt
Broken passenger side sunvisor
A bit lower on the rear drivers side that the passengers side.... so I guess a pump up is in order
Bootlid has a very small amount of rust in the seam and a few light dinks on the top surface (but I am being very fussy!)
General clean up and polish
All in all a good buy .......I think!
I love the white as well, there seem to be very few around.
