Re: Hello from Paris
Bonjour,
I have a problem with the Stepspeed gearbox. When I select the D or R position on the gear lever, they are not displayed on the dashboard. So after 3-4 minutes, the gearbox switches into safety mode. There is no display problem with the P or N position.
I drained the gearbox last month, I used the good gearbox fluid (Esso CVT fluid) and the gear selector works well, I have repaired it.
I have put my TF in two workshop and they didn't find anything.
Some days the gearbox works fine and when it works I can do 400km without a problem and some days it didn't work at all.
Thanks,
Guillaume.

Re: Hello from Paris
Salut et bienvenue sur le forum Guillaume,
sounds like an electrical problem, which sadly is not uncommon on the Stepspeeds. There are two connectors which are prone to fail, one is the round plug on the gearbox itself, the other is the one on the gear lever itself. When the display in the speedo shows PRND correctly, I'd suggest that you get to the one on the lever first. Check if all connectors are okay, clean them with contact spray and refit. Maybe this already cures the issues. If not, it might be the switches in the lever assembly are broken, replacements can be traced on ebay or from one of the reputable breakers on here. Are the "manual" gears working properly?
À bientôt

Re: Hello from Paris
Thanks for your answer, the "manual" gears work when the gearbox is not in security mode.
I will check the all the connectors this weekend if the weather is good.
PRND are correctly displayed on the gear selector but not on the dashboard. I have already repaired the switches on the gear lever.
Guillaume.

Re: Hello from Paris
Almost a year to find the problem, I ended up disassembling and cleaning practically every connector of the car.
