Kiwi newbie

Post by SHAPESHIFTER » Fri Mar 10, 2017 1:00 am

:-D Kia Ora / Hi ....
Pommy living in NZ for last 11 yrs just bought my first convertible :D
Picked up a 1996 dark green 1.8 MGF with 145,000kms on the clock ( 90,000 miles ) at auction, only driven it the once, just waiting to collect it from the auto electricians as had an issue with the alternator brushes ( glad the car dealer is paying for the labour ! ).
Will need to organize new cambelt and service, as well as look out for a new roof with glass screen, ( MGF Mania UK - and getting it shipped over ) as original roof needs replacing in due course.
How can I find out info. on my MGF, it was a Japanese import.
Any help or links to NZ clubs would be appreciated.

Depending where abouts you are living.
There are 4 regional MG Car Clubs in NZ associated with MG Car Club UK. They are Auckland, Manawatu, Wellington and Christchurch. Google. MG Car Club New Zealand for details.
We had the pleasure of living in Blenheim for 4 years (1993 - 97). Wonderful MG driving area however we unfortunately only had a Hertz Toyota Lease.

Hi Helsbyman, colintf, Geoff.F, talkingcars ( James )
Received some data about my MGF, it's a fairly early car, 551st production car manufactured, and apparently well worth keeping :)
I am making a donation to the advised charity for the info, but will join the club in due course....
