Sprinting/Hill Cimbing F

Post by peter160866 » Fri Mar 10, 2017 9:44 pm

Been a BGT owner for a few years.

Did an enjoyable day at Northweald with MGOT & the B a couple of years ago and a day at Shelsley Driver Scool in friends 7.

Now I want to do a bit a sprinting and so have acquired an F.

Any help advice appreciated - especially re tyres !

Hi and welcome

I am sure there's a few on here including Rob Bell that can advise. Neil Lock (MGCC SW Centre) used to compete in a TF quite successfully as well, but is switching to a ZR this season I believe. I am sure Neil can be contacted via the contacts list on the SW Centre's website :)

Welcome...with regard to tyres if you have an MGF, ignore anything that relates to MGTF (and vice versa), different suspension, different responses to different tyres and different tyre size combinations. There is a lot info' available on various sites, a case of trawling through.

For our club super sprints and hill climbs I used Toyo R1R's on my F with 15" wheels, they are also a good road tyre as well but a bit soft!
On my TF with 16's I have just purchased Toyo R888R
Piper 4-2-1 Manifold, Daytona Back Box, Stage two Remap, Bilstein Shocks, thicker anti roll bars, PG 1 gearbox Caged bearing with type B Ltd Slip Diff. Large rear brake Kit, Toyo R888R Track/road tyres. Half Roll Cage, 4Point Harness.
