Hi guys,
Greetings from Western Australia.
I am looking to buy a 1998 MGF. 180000kms on the clock, some service history.
What should I look for when viewing the car? I don't think rust will be a problem here.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the MGF world!
A good place to start ist Rob Bell’s Buyers’ Guide, which can be found
here.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Don't be surprised if the subframe mounts are rusting.

Thanks fellas.
It's for my son, his 18th coming up in April, so want to be sure.
I had a 1979 VW Polo when I got my licence, bought and insurance paid by myself....times change eh?

Hahaha, I remember my daughter (9 years old at the time) together with me in the MGF when we were following a remarkably slow car. I was murmuring something like “can’t that idiot push it a bit?”. Her comment simply was “How could he, in a Polo?”

850cc, non servo assisted brakes, old school. Had a few through my hands since then...No more Polos though!
