Hi I think I’ve bought an Abingdon

Post by Old gh bug » Tue Jan 15, 2019 4:29 pm

Hi I’ve just bought this very cheap ( has a belt problem I’ll explain later)
I think it’s an Abingdon model. It has 70k on the clock the overall condition is ok no rust. Interior is good.
Apparently the head has been done but I have been told the exhaust valve timing is out , how big a concern is this ?

It had been laid up for about ten years then had then had an mot in 2016 two advisories,it needed two tyres .
Apparently it runs but has a top end knock ???

I hope to go over it and make it good what do you think and recommend I should do?

If you email me (registrar@mgfregister.org) the VIN, I'll check the build data and let you know if it's an Abingdon. The wheels aren't from an Abingdon, so may have been replaced at some point.

I have been told from the owner that he has the original wheels but they have been painted orange but I can have them.
What is the proper paint code for them , so I can get them back to original.

Thanks
