Hello David, and welcome to the Forum.
It's surprising how many have had Beetles in the past, I myself have had two, a '53 Beetle and a '57 Campervan, and have worked on others for friends.

Re: New
I was just talking to some guys last weekend at a local cars and coffee meet where there were several MGF's and TF's talking about brakes one guy who had AP brakes on one of his cars said he didn't really see much difference from the steel callipers and definitely thought the extra cost and wheel change wasn't worth it . But that was just his opinion!!!!
By the way my beetle 1978 1303 cabrio heavily modified also have owned many other VW's

Re: New
Yeah, F/TF wheels are an old imperial fitting (PDC is 96mm/3.75 inches) so quite limited in choice.

Re: New
Can't agree with this - IMHO the standard brakes are only just up to the job and the AP brake upgrade is one of the best mods I have done.Old gh bug wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 1:05 pmI was just talking to some guys last weekend at a local cars and coffee meet where there were several MGF's and TF's talking about brakes one guy who had AP brakes on one of his cars said he didn't really see much difference from the steel callipers and definitely thought the extra cost and wheel change wasn't worth it .
