N reg car, quite early I guess. There should be someone around who is able to give some information. On this one it’s not me ;) we as continentals were way to late to be in the group of early MGF’s. Damn’d importers:didn’t get their business going as they should. Look for MGF25 (ish) concinced there will be a section of cars with VIN numbers just one digit number apart from yours. You’ll find me in the early foreign rare colour department ;)
MGFvvc - 90FVBG - charcoal - you might think it is original - (1996 nr:8204)
MGTF 120 - 57RNJ7 - BRG - every day is an MG day - (2005)
MGC CGT - SJ08DY - tartan red - 1985 restauration fairly original - (1968 nr: 4137)

It is indeed an early build car. The Nxxx SAC registered cars tended to be given to the top brass at Rover Group and to VIPs. This particular car spent time at MIRA undergoing aerodynamic testing in its early life. I shall dig up the files I have to see what tests were run on it :)

What happened to it since I don't know - but it is the only MGF tested at MIRA that appears to have survived (according to my quick search of the on-line DVLA search engine).

For this car, it was last MoT'd in 2016 (use https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/) and it looks as though it had spend a year or so off road prior to that (probably MoT'd to sell the car on). Quite a low-mileage car, with just 84.5k miles on the clock when last tested.

John, hope you can upload some pictures of your new purchase soon! :thumbsu:

Use Full editor and then the Attachments tab and attach the file, then upload.
