Next natter August 8th 2013

Post by NoseyParker » Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:48 pm

Hi all

I'm back from France and ready to enjoy August in our cars. As the treasure hunt is on the 11/8/13

I'm proposing the next natter to be:

August 8th at 8.00pm at the cunning man, burghfield bridge just outside reading.

I hope that we can finalise our other August events the same night?

As usual everyone is welcome. Pm me if you are new and require further info on our meets or natters. Please let me know if you can be there.

Rob

Hi - good to hear you are back. Unfortunately we will not be able to join you on the 8th as we are away but we shopuld be back for the 11th. Your posting on the forum on the 3rd July had our "Run to the Sun" scheduled for the 11th. I think Ian is hoping to join us. With WAMGOC scheduled for the 18th and the Treasure Hunt the 25th.I will keep in touch via the forum except when we are away when we are out of internet contact.

Hi all

It looks like the 8th is not so good for a few of you and therefore I will postpone this natter and rearrange for another date in August. As for the "run to the sun" I suggest we meet as last year, outside the entrance to Wellington country park at 10.30 for a gentle drive to the coast. Ian if you and liz are still keen to join let me know and we can plan to meet you in odiham again? Our eventual planned picnic spot will be The Witterings which is a lovely spot just up the road from hayling.

As last year this trip is dependant on weather so I will confirm next Saturday, via this forum to go or not to go!!

Take care all, hopefully see you next Sunday am.

Hi Rob,

Odiham will be fine for us, maybe the Esso Garage just before where we met last time as it's on the right side of the road. Will be there about 10.45.

Well done Rob,we will see you at the country Park and hope the weather is a repeat of last year.
I will see if Ems will join us in her TF, she lives very near the Park.

Are you joining us on the Octagonal Run the week after? Our TF will be there to join with the other Thames Valley cars, crewed by my daughter and her husband, he drives :)

I just checked the weather forecast for Sunday and its for light rain in the morning and then 20C PM. If that doesn't change it will work for me.

Hi stan

Well I was planning to join the octagonal run, that was until I had a light come on on my dash yesterday evening!! Thought it would be a case of plugging in the diagnostic machine and clearing the codes. Typically not that simple the machine is banging on about a camshaft sensor but more worryingly the ecu!! That's the worry which could be a lot of money to sort so keep your fingers crossed.

Anyway won't have the car for Sunday but will bring the eurobox, and don't think it will be sorted for next Sunday either just depends upon further investigation middle of next week!! My aim is to make sure it's sorted for the treasure hunt but if not that should be ok as I will be a Marshall anyway just there to help. Regarding Sunday, I will post on the forum whether it's a green light to go subject to weather by Saturday lunchtime. Ian 10.45 at the Esso will be great again subject to what I have just said.

When our car was remapped cam sensor fault was stored. Mark preffered to leave it there for reasons I cant remember. It did not have a warning light on though, sounds a bit ouch.

Trouble is stan whilst she drive ok it wouldn't go through an mot with the light on. I'm also concerned on a longish journey she might just stop.

Hi all

Just looked at the bbc forecast for tomorrow. See link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2634231

Typical it looks ok either side of lunchtime! Ie between 12 and 3pm its forecast to be light showers whatever that may mean?? Not sure its great for a picnic, im happy either way as im not in a mg,but i know that some of you arnt keen which would include me, to take our cars out and picnic when its wet.

Should we delay and wait for a better september or keep to the arrangement, you decide, majority rules. Post your reply now..........

Rob, so sorry to hear of your MG problems and we're keeping our fingers crossed it's a simple sort out. As you won't have your MG ready for tomorrow and as the hint of rain and open top motoring sends me into a panic I am very happy for the Run to the Sun to be postponed to September. I will watch this space for youe decision. John.

Hi all

Thanks john and Ian.

As I said in an earlier post we will make a decision lunchtime today. I'm out this pm and I'm sure you want to plan for tomorrow either way. I know stan and Simon have not replied but it think it's best to postpone.

I would suggest therefore that we have our next natter the week before our treasure hunt which is on the 25th. Are there any dates that week that should be avoided ??

Hi Rob, we were out earlier, noted Run to the Sun is postponed.
J is still on school holidays until Sept so a natter is not a problem that week.

As there does not seem to be too much enthusiasm about tomorrow maybe we should cancel and look forward to next week at High Wycombe

Stood Simon in the fish pond making waves but paste sandwiches did not taste the same on the patio as they would have done by the sea  Turned out to be a nice day after all. Next time ...... By the way, Simon said his car has a roof on !!!
