Treasure Hunt 25.8.13

Post by NoseyParker » Sat Aug 17, 2013 12:10 pm

Hi All

The 2013 Treasure Hunt:

Meet at Tescos car park in Henley at 11.00am on the 25th August. Address: 359 Reading Rd Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 4HA. I will meet you there and give out the clues when everyone has arrived. Weather not too important for this one as it is mainly driving and you are all welcome to drive your more modern and rust proofed cars!!

I reckon to gather all the answers, it will take roughly 4 hours. However by the time you stop and have a sandwich en route you can probably easily add on a further hour.

I have booked a slot at The Crown at Play Hatch, Foxhill Ln, Play Hatch, Reading RG4 9QN.http://www.thecrown.co.uk/ from 4pm which will be the final destination following the last clue at this point we can have a well earned drink and some nibbles.

I will need to absolutely confirm numbers with the Crown as its a Bank Holiday Sunday. Therefore a confirmation reply to this post would be appreciated ASAP I have said to the lady that I will confirm numbers by Tuesday next week. I don't need to know if your not coming just confirmation that you are and the numbers of people. Feel free to invite any non mgf related guests (if you like them that is). For any other information please do not hesitate to contact me

Thanks as always

Rob

I'm in :)
Put me down for 2 Rob. I think the Fiat is rustier than the TF though.
Talking of using the everyday driver, why dont you pitch up for the Octagonal tommorrow in the support vehicle? Some did it in a Nissan Micra one year when their MGB was in pieces. You can enter at The Lions.

Hi Rob. Managed to change weekend around and so yes, we will join you on Monday. If we are too late to be added on to food list don't panic. You missed a really good rally on Sunday. and Stowe House is a magnificent place to look round. See you all Monday.

Sorry I knew it wasn't pizz in fact I meant to have written phizz!!! See you then.

Simon, do you and Anne want to stay for food? if so I will try to add you and phil to the table numbers, don't think it will be a problem as I think its more a light bites menu at that time....just let me know ASAP.

Ok all

I have now booked the table/s at the crown for 11 people. As this number is over 9 and it is a bank holiday I will need to send them an e mail per booking our order. So could you all visit http://www.thecrown.co.uk/#/the-crown/n ... les/sunday and choose what you would like and let me know by replying to this post. It would be great if I can have your chosen dishes by Thursday evening so I can email them the pre bookings on Friday. Please remember this link is specifically the menu for Sundays and bank holidays.

Phil there is a child's menu within the website but not on the link above if you can choose from that for Joshua and add that to your order.

Thanks guys

Rob

What a shame. . Afraid this is something which happens to most MG's at some time, Can recommend Summit Motors Maidenhead. They are first class and reasonably priced.

Good luck. By the way you do not necessarily have to be in an MG to do the treasure hunt.

Sorry to hear that Phil. Hope you get it sorted ASAP. Sorry that you and josh couldn't attend, never mind there will be more events.

Thanks to everyone today for making it "such fun". Well done to John and Trish the winning crew. I will go back and check that pub sign though. Should have gone to "Specsavers". Blimey that's advertising, Keith and the rest of the committee will have me... Better sign off now. I will post some pics in the week but "bear with" I have lots of things to sort this week.

Rob
