A great weekend even if it was more like winter than spring.
The organisers did us proud with a club stand well positioned to watch the racing and close to the bar and the burger van
Our stand was full of cars on each day with some brave soles been there both days and even camping over night under the flight path of East Midlands airport

Re: Donington Historic weekend
A fun weekend of great racing by old racers (the cars, not the drivers!). Although we only managed the Sunday, Keith and others had endured some pretty chilly and wet weather on Saturday, and came back for more on Sunday.
The first race for E type Jaguars saw a nasty incident, as one lost its sump and the contents. The second car whilst overtaking missed the oil flags and careered into the pit wall, and the following two cars attempting to miss the debris on the track collided. The race was of course stopped, but fortunately no driver injured.
Among the classes, the Group C sports cars were something to behold, and seeing them being worked on in their garages certainly made my day! And they provided the best race too - with a 6 litre Aston (no.18) driven by Andy Meyrick and a 3.9 litre Spice driven by Mike Donovan (no.111) dicing to the very end, as only a lapped car stood in the way of an overtake on the last chicane! The Aston won by a hairsbreadth! Brilliant!
