Thanks again, Martin.

I'm pleased with the IQ of the lens (Canon EF 100-400 F4.5-5.6 L). Ironically, on my older camera, it being a 1.6 crop sensor, this lens would have given me greater reach. I'm happy to sacrifice a little reach for the image quality a full frame camera gives me. I've still got my other camera and intend to use it still. I'm just loving the full frame too much at the moment - the older camera isn't getting a look in.

There is some cropping going on in some of those shots if I'm honest - depending on where on the circuit I was shooting from. Not too much for the car shots - just for composition really, but there is quite a lot of cropping going on with the aeroplane shots. Little blighter was a bit quick for me.

Thanks for posting that picture Erik! :D And I did get to drive it around Silverstone (the 20mph regulated perimeter road!)

Just returned from Tech-Speed. Cage now welded in, and hole in sill made good. It's almost ready to race - but clearly have some things still to sort out in the interior... :thumbsu:

MG enthusiasts flocked to Silverstone Circuit to celebrate all things MG, as the MG Car Club's showpiece MGLive! event (23 & 24 June) assumed centre stage for a 62nd successive year.

Despite some challenging conditions, MGLive! attracted thousands of devotees from 24 different nations and provided something for all ages to enjoy.

Visitors were treated to a fine array of arena action, car displays, traders and social activities.

The MG Car Club's comprehensive on-track race programme saw 14 well-supported races take place on the full Grand Prix circuit.

The jewel in the MGLive! crown was the Official MGB50 celebration race, which attracted 58* FIA-spec MGBs. All cars were pre-1966, including four original examples built at the Morris Garages competitions department in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

The race, to mark the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the MGB, was for one or two drivers, with a mandatory pit stop.
