Fame at last!!
Just been looking at the Continental Car Tours site and noticed that the lead image this year is from last year's Laon event and, if you look behind the E type, our group make up most of the cars in the shot...

Who's been watching the TV series "The Petrol Age" ? if I'm correct is that not "the" E Type that was driven overnight by the Jaguar test driver to Zurich ? No plans had been made, but it was decided by William Lyons I think, that he needed the car there by 10.00 am the following day so a ferry was booked and the driver told to get there or else. He made it with 10 minutes to spare.
