Biting The Bullet

I've decided to bite the bullet and remove the cylinder head on Sandra's MGF to replace the valve stems seals as it was smoking on start up and on the overrun, I was relunctant to carry out this operation as there were no overheating issues with car!!
Anyway the head is now removed, not too bad to do!, but awaiting better weather to come so I can rebuild it! I'll also replace the rear brake pipes while the head is off as I've had advisories on these for the last two MOT tests, my bad!!!
Updates to follow.

Come on John that bullet must have been chewed to bits by now.

You did say updates to follow and it's been ages.

I know it's been a while, but the F is now back on the road, I've fitted new 3 layer head gasket, head skimmed, new valve stem seals (these have cured the smoking on startup & the overrun) new cambelt kit (although old belt had only done 3000 miles!), new water pump & thermostat, the rear brake pipe across rear bulkhead was replaced as well, while access was easier with head removed.
The car now has fresh MOT certificate & road tax, 4 new tyres have been fitted (Kumho).

Nice to see the work in progress. Today is fine ideal for replacing the front sub frame mount but the grass is knee high so am going to be wading through that instead.
