Hello fellow Yellow bellies!

Post by Falcon » Fri Mar 18, 2016 8:19 pm

I posted an introduction in the Welcome section but thought I'd say hello here too.

I live near to Rasen and have an MGF 1.8 VVC which is undergoing some mild "restoration" work. This weekend I'm fitting new brake disks and pads all round, along with the Exhaust downpipe. Hopefully I can find out which garage in Louth does the Hydragas refill and get that out the way too. These car's are a beautiful piece of engineering, and I can't wait to meet some of the owner / enthusiasts around the shire.

Wishing for sunshine for everyone this coming weekend :thumbsu:

Paul.

Shame, I had my beast kicking out in the wet today so the rain isn't too bad! Yellow / Yeller Belly is a name for people who are from Lincolnshire, but no one's sure of its origin

You live and learn. Yellow belly was a Confederate name for the Union army in the US civil war. It was an insult as it implied they were cowards
We say he/she has a yellow strike

Just a belated explanation regarding the name "Yellow Bellies" for Lincolnshire folks. It comes from the uniform the Lincolnshirenregement used to wear in years gone by. They wore a bright yellow bib on their uniform, hence the name.
Jusst a reminder that there is an active MGCC natter at the Cross Keys pub, Grasby, 1st Wednesday of every month. All are very welcome.
Safe driving.

Hello,

I am in Doddington Park in Lincoln, I have a newly acquired 1996 MGF VVC, currently non starting. I believe it to be a fuelling issue. I have Rimmer Bros close by but man are they expensive!

Hopefully meet up with you all when she finally gets up and running.
