North East Herts Road Run ???

Hi Peep's
As mentioned at the meet about sorting some runs out in the near future ...would anyone be interested in doing a run around "the best" roads in North East Herts in a circular tour starting from The Plough, and finishing at The Plough.
This would be on a sunday ..best day as these roads should be quieter so we can have more fun .... either have a meal approx half way or when we return at the end of the run back at The Plough.
I have got a rough idea of a good route and will post up the route tomorrow after work ....but if anyone knows of any great roads we could incorporate to it even better

Cath and I would be up for tagging along depending on the date. We have plans for the 15th June & 6th July, but please don't let this sway you.

Plan the run when it suits most people, I am hoping this will be the first of many

Okay ... this is the route i think would be great to drive

Crews hill to Brookmans Park
then B158 to Hertford
then B1000 to Welwyn
then B656 to Hitchin
then B655 to Barton le Clay
then Shillington towards Henlow and Shefford
then Shefford A507 to Baldock
then down to Buntingford (best road ever)
then Buntingford down to Puckeridge
then Bi368 up to Barley
then A505 to Duxford
short blast down the M11 for some convoy photo's to Bishops stortford
then B1004 threw Much Hadham to Roydon and Harlow
then Harlow to Epping
then B181 over towards Nazeing then down the crooked mile towards Waltham Abbey
then Waltham abbey back to Crews hill

What do you think ???? if a Yes ... then a date to be arranged when most peep's can make

Gary ... any chance you could do a "reccy" of the route with me sometime ?? i know nearly all of it but would want to produce a road map of the route so drivers know where their going if they lose contact with the car(s) in front

Hi ... you must have been reading my mind .... plan to go towards Henlow camp then back down to Hitchin or another route that will bring us back to Baldock and the 507 ??
We'll probably have another Pub meet before this is up and running ... and that will be on the 8th July at The Plough.

Sorted .... Shillington to Henlow ... then towards Arlesey and Shefford to pick A507 up there and avoid driving through Hitchin and Letchworth

Hi Colin .... Just done a quick check on where Bedford autodrome ....its north east of St Neots ... and its way off the route i intend to take .....you'd be looking at adding another 40 miles to which is an already quite long trip.

Hi Peep's

Been on Go ogle maps and did a point to point check and this run works out at approx 148 miles,Gary and i will get the actual mileage when we go and "reccy" the route ... taking into account traveling to and from The Plough to do this run i think that's about right for a nice drive.
Also the date will be Sunday 20th July ... meeting up about 10'ish to get a breakfast at one of the garden centers before we depart.
