Pride of Longbridge - 12th April - Convoy from LFE

Post by Phil_B » Fri Mar 07, 2014 2:32 pm

UPDATE!

We now have a club stand at this event with space for 10 cars. If you would like to join us on the day then please let me know ASAP to I can arrange.

Thanks

Phil

Hi All,

As we are approaching the PoL event quite rapidly I thought we should get a convoy sorted out. Bit more difficult that Stoneleigh as there is more motorway to negotiate but I think we should be OK.

So thought we could meet up again at Leicester Forest East services (M1 Southbound side) at 08:30 with a view to leaving a 08:45. It's about an hours drive and I suspect there will be some queuing involved at the other end but if we arrive together we should be able to park together hopefully.

For those that have not been before the details are all here >> http://www.austinlongbridgefederation.co.uk

We'll take the direct motorway route. If you have a handheld radio / walkie talkie then bring it along so we can keep in touch en route.

Who's going?

Yep, of course. We've got some space in the Register club stand if you are interested as well.

On a serious note though. I don't think club stands should always be choc full of pristine examples. Mine is covered in dents but I love it and am happy to stand it next to a concourse example. We are all about enjoying the cars!

That said, if you don't want to put it on the stand then that's obviously no problem, just let me know and I'll stop bullying you in to it ;-)

Any objections to meeting a few minutes earlier so we can leave by 08:30 at the latest? We need to meet up with the rest of the cars for the club stand and leave Hopwood Park services by 09:30. The plan being that we then have a 10 minute drive to get to the site (plus some time for queueing) we'll then have a few minutes to get settled before they open the gates properly at 10.

If it's an issue we could all just head straight there and meet at Hopwood services instead, just convoy the last few miles?
