Nothing is ever straightforward......

Fitting some new component speakers with their own crossover units, so the TF has component speakers....can i 'ignore' the pre wired tweeter wiring, wire the main speaker feed into the new crossover, new wire to the 6inch from crossover and ditto the new tweeter...or does the TF have some sort of crossover 'further back' in the loom?

Nothing as clever as a crossover, the tweeter takes a feed from the main door speaker and uses a capacitor to limit low frequancies.

You'll either have to fit the crossovers in the doors or run a second pair of cables into the door.
