Poor radio channell pick up
Hiya!
I've fitted my new (old) CD player today and still my CD player is having problems picking up radio signal.
It will pick up radio one and classical fm, however, nothing else.
Is the cure simply replacing the aerial on the back?
Thanks

Re: Poor radio channell pick up
I would look at the connection to the aerial first and of that's ok I would probably replace the aerial coax cable. The aerial its self it pretty bomb proof unless of course it get snapped in half.
This is assuming the radio worked ok before going into the MG

Re: Poor radio channell pick up
Cheers for that
Wel its been the same on both players now so working on the law of averages, its gotta be something else.
How do you replace the co ax cable? Do you know where it routes to at all?
It may all become something of nothing as I'm looking to get and ipod adapter and mine gets radio stations through that but in the meantime...

I would suspect it goes through the boot into the cabin (near side), under the carpet to the dash. I think once I had found what route it travels I would work front to back and tape the new cable to the old one and gently pull it through the dash.
Hopefully someone who has done this will confirm or tell you a better way.
Let us know how you get on
