Any ideas how to fit these to a 2001 mgf 1.6 eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281287839542? ... 1439.l2648

Re: Rear Speakers
Jay, as Darren says - they'll be easy to fit assuming you have the correct T-bar. If not, you'll have to modify what you have or get one that has the grilles already.

Re: Rear Speakers
Speaker grills already in the t bar, and after some reading I believe the cables should be in the cubby box ? I am guessing I am going to have to get some speaker cable and connect to some kind of connector?

Re: Rear Speakers
If the cables are in situ it should just be a case of connecting them to the speakers with a couple of spade connectors.

Re: Rear Speakers
I managed a very quick look at the t bar tonight, although there are speaker grills there is nothing to screw the speakers in to. I can see the speaker grills from the rear of the car if I lift the parcel shelf. I have seen some posts were there is a plastic insert in the tear fro mounting the speakers. Is it a case of drilling some holes to mount the speakers? I did find some cables in the cubby but not really sure what is what, both have plastic connectors on the end so I assume I will need to buy a connector with cable on to go to the speakers?

Re: Rear Speakers
I think you will need to have a look on eBay for the later Tbar and cover. Should be able to get both for less than £40. You will then need to run new wires through the centre console and connect them to your stereo.

Re: Rear Speakers
if you buy the t bar with the speakers in, the one in the picture you posted yesterday, it looks like (in that picture) the white plug (in your latest pics)just plugs straight into the t bar connector & hey presto!!! At least that what it looks like to me in the pictures you've posted, I had to do mine from scratch so I've no way of telling.

Re: Rear Speakers
you can mount them on the front of the t bar cover easily, but they just don't look right, the t bar with the speakers in quite often come up for less than £20 on ebay, there is a picture of my t bar cover in the link below, this is before I changed it all for the proper stuff which is much tidier

Re: Rear Speakers
I don't think there is room to do that, you "might" be able to fit them to the cover by screwing through the cover from the front, using black screws, then fasten them through the speaker mounting holes on the actual speaker using these:Darrenbrown507 wrote:I was thinking of bolting them to the actual metal cross bar, I have speaker covers already on the t bar

Re: Rear Speakers
Cheers Daz, that might just be a plan. Gotta sort my window alignment out first, spent hours on the bloody thing and it is still not right, piggin thing. I probably need new seals but I am skint. It was leak free until I adjusted the hod slightly.....live and learn

Re: Rear Speakers
Managed to get them installed tonight, using the seep clips, bit of a bodge but the money saved might just go to a door hinge kit, from MS.
Cheers for the help
