Hi all, So I have my 2003 MGTF and the Kenwood KDC-4024 has , at last , given up! I am seriously interested in the Pioneer DEH-1600UB available at Halfords for around £59. I' not really a 'techie' in this area but I am naturally aware that the MGTF wiring sockets/plugs will currently be connected to the Kenwood !! My question is - do most Car audio systems have a standard, uniform connectivity ? Or , to put it another way , id it likely that the current MGTF / Kenwood connectivity will be the same for the Pioneer - or do I have some fancy rewiring to do ?
Also, where would I get the 'key' strips to remove the Kenwood?
All the best.

Generally the connectors would be the same but occasionally I have found differences with the perm and switch live.
Keys for removal may be different but generally cheap.
It's possible to remove without these if you carefully pop the facia and push the stereo out from the back.

I replied on the other thread.
If fitted properly the head unit should not push out.
