Just a quick question before I open up the fob on my F... is the battery user replaceable or am I going to have to faff around resetting things afterwards?

I offer no guarantee but this is what I do

1) Unlock the car with the fob
2) Change the battery
3) press the unlock and lock buttons until the car locks (normally 4 presses each).

That isn't the official method but it works for me.

Had to replace the batteries on my two fobs when I recently bought the car and seem to remember I did that (locking/unlocking a few times). Didn't subsequently have a problem with anything.
